Delete Account and Data
This page is BuddhaGang's public account and data deletion URL for iOS, Android, website, and social-login review. You do not need to be signed in to read these instructions.
Delete from the app
- Sign in to the BuddhaGang app.
- Open Profile.
- Choose Delete account and data.
- Type DELETE and submit the deletion request.
Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, email [email protected] from the email address connected to your account. Include your BuddhaGang username if you know it. We may need to verify that you control the account before deleting data.
What we delete or anonymize
Confirmed account deletion removes or anonymizes the BuddhaGang account and personal data connected to it, including profile details, app login tokens, social login identifiers, push notification tokens, onboarding/practice answers, Dharma readings, and app activity tied to the account. Community posts, comments, reactions, and chat content are deleted or anonymized where the backend can safely remove them.
What may remain
Some records may remain where required for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, payment records, backups, or moderation history. Backup copies age out through normal backup rotation. Where possible, retained records are separated from personal identifiers.
Social login data
If you used Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Apple, Google, or another social sign-in provider, deleting your BuddhaGang account removes the provider identifiers we store for your BuddhaGang login. For Sign in with Apple, when Apple gives BuddhaGang a revocable token and the server is configured for Apple revocation, deletion also asks Apple to revoke BuddhaGang's authorization. You can also disconnect BuddhaGang from the provider's own account settings.
